The new program, Coping Skills for Breast Cancer Survivors and Caregivers is a six-session program of one hour each.
This program teaches mindfulness skills of movement, relaxation and observation to manage the physiological and physical aspects of breast cancer, reduce stress symptoms, improve mood states and promote quality of life.
Education about lymphedema is also provided. The program is taught by a facilitator trained in mindfulness-based stress reduction and certified as a yoga instructor.
There is “no charge” but registration is a must and a physician’s approval is required for all participants. Call 239-437-1606 to register.
This program is sponsored by Lymphedema Resources, Inc., funded by a grant from Susan G. Komen for the Cure Southwest Florida Affiliate and presented by Hearts’ Path to Mindful Living, Inc.:
